Asian American and Pacific Islander Policy Research Consortium | AAPIPRC

The AAPIPRC is a consortium of four university-based research centers that focus on critical policy issues facing Asian American and Pacific Islanders: University of California Los Angeles’ Asian American Studies Center, University of Massachusetts Boston’s Institute for Asian American Studies, City University of New York’s Asian American/Asian Research Institute, and University of California’s Asian American and Pacific Islanders Policy Multi-campus Research Program. These four share a common vision of supporting policy and applied research, working collaboratively with community organizations and policy makers, and training a new generation of engaged scholars. The Consortium, conceived in late 2010 during the conference on data and research convened by the White House AAPI Initiative, combines the collective strengths and expertise of the four centers to address national policies and to promote comparative regional studies. The Consortium is committed to expanding its membership, especially to include an organization that specializes in policy research on Pacific Islanders.

Asian Americans Advancing Justice—Chicago

Advancing Justice-Chicago was established in 1992 by a group of visionary Chicago community activists, academicians, and business leaders in response to the growing need to build a pan-Asian policy agenda among Chicago's diverse Asian American communities. Advancing Justice-Chicago projects a united voice on the most pressing issues of concern to Asian Americans in metropolitan Chicago. Its staff and board work closely with a broad network of established community leaders and emerging activists who have bridged ethnic and cultural differences to find solutions to shared concerns.

Asian American / Asian Research Institute - City University of New York | AAARI-CUNY

City University of New York's Asian American/Asian Research Institute was established on November 19, 2001, by the CUNY Board of Trustees, in a resolution introduced by Chancellor Matthew Goldstein. The Institute is a university-wide scholarly research and resource center that focuses on policies and issues that affect Asians and Asian Americans. It covers four areas: Asian American Studies; East Asian Studies; South Asian Studies; and Trade & Technology Studies.

Loyola University Chicago School of Education

The School of Education at Loyola University Chicago, a Jesuit and Catholic urban university, supports the Jesuit ideal of knowledge in the service of humanity. They endeavor to advance professional education in service of social justice, engaged with Chicago, the nation, and the world. UC AAPI Policy Multi-Campus Research Program | The MRP

The MRP is a UC system wide program that brings together policy relevant UC faculty researchers from all nine campuses working collaboratively with the AAPI communities and with public officials. The founding mission to support applied and policy research on AAPI policy issues, bridge the “gown and town” divide, and develop a curriculum that would train graduate and undergraduate students through direct engagement in community-oriented research. UC AAPI Policy MRP promotes and coordinates numerous applied and policy research on topics relevant to California’s growing Asian American and Pacific Islander population.

UCLA Asian American Studies Center

The UCLA Asian American Studies Center was established during the 1969-1970 academic year as a result of faculty, student, alumni, and community advocacy. Through its programs in research, teaching, publications and other endeavors, the Center has pursued its original mission, and has sought to enrich and inform not only the UCLA community, but also an array of broader audiences and sectors in the state, the nation, and internationally. The Center publishes the leading scholarly journal in Asian American Studies, Amerasia Journal, and AAPI Nexus: Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Policy, Practice, and Community.

UMass Boston Institute for Asian American Studies | IAAS

The Institute for Asian American Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston was established in 1993 with support from Asian American communities and direction from the state legislature. The IAAS utilizes resources and expertise from the University and the community to conduct research on Asian Americans; to strengthen and further Asian American involvement in political, economic, social, and cultural life; and to improve opportunities and campus life for Asian American faculty, staff, and students and for those interested in Asian Americans.

Association for Asian American Studies | AAAS

The Association for Asian American Studies was founded in 1979 for the purpose of advancing the highest professional standard of excellence in teaching and research in the field of Asian American Studies; promoting better understanding and closer ties between and among various sub-components within Asian American Studies: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Hawai’ian, Southeast Asian, South Asian, Pacific Islander, and other groups. AAAS sponsors professional activities to facilitate increased communication and scholarly exchange among teachers, researchers, and students in the field of Asian American Studies. The organization advocates and represents the interests and welfare of Asian American Studies and Asian Americans. AAAS is also founded for the purpose of educating American society about the history and aspirations of Asian American ethnic minorities.
